MB Arellano- Our House Contractor

I found this incidentally few months back.  It was a pleasant surprise, I only wished when these photos were posted, my house were already a little "full".  As you can see, the house looks really bare.. For more of the bare house photos, you may want to visit my contractor's website.

The Challenge With Dr. Gan

November 19, 2011... minutes past ten in the morning, at Asian Hospital in Alabang where Internal Medicine/Endocrinologist, Dr Gan holds clinic...

Lab results:

Glucose - slightly higher, BUT not Diabetic! VG
Sodium -  low.  Surprise surprise, I love condiments and drink less liquid, how come?
Cholesterol - BORDERLINE HIGH 5.5mmol/L vs normal range of <5.18.   RED ALERT?

Dr. Gan  :  I will give you meds...
Me         :  No.
Dr. Gan  :  Yes
Me         :  Doc, can I just try to shed these extra pounds off first and see if I can do without any meds?

Dr. Gan  :  How?
Me         :  I can run.  I will run.
Dr. Gan  :  Where?
Me         :  BGC (Bonifacio Global City, that's where I work)
Dr. Gan  :  Meet me at Rox on monday.   Let me see for myself.  You have to reach your ideal weight of no more than 62kgs.  3x a week run, will make you lose 1-2 lbs weekly.  We'll check your numbers on Feb 2012.

Verdict:

High Cholesterol
Overweight by 12 kg

The Challenge:

Lower the level of cholesterol
Lose weight
RUN

There goes my eating binge...hello running shoes...

One Day at Dapitan Arcade

Export overuns abound in Dapitan Arcade.  That little fellow in maroon short is my Juan.

Native handicrafts, from house decors to some knick knacks are sold much cheaper than in malls.

Sister, checking some of the Arcade's merchandise, got me some awesome vases.

I found these twigs scattered around the neighborhood and instantly gave me this idea.  Not bad huh!

Project Herbs Garden

A recent weekend trip to Tagaytay resulted to a new found interest- Herbs! Herbs are great addition to anyone's garden. Basil, I believe is a must, most specially to those who cooks pasta a lot. Initially, I got myself three varieties of basil (I did'nt know there are a lot of those!)sweet, thai and another one, which the vendor calls red basil. Each variety exudes distinct smell. I also got Eucalyptus mint herb which smells more like toothpaste. I plan to start my herb garden soonest. Next on my purchase list are: thyme, parsley, rosemary, celery & dill. In my recent research, I came across Manila Seedling Bank which is located somewhere in Quezon City. There, fruit bearing trees, flowery plants and of course herbs, are sold at cheaper price. Other than that, one can find herbs ready for growing in Laguna, Silang Cavite & Tagaytay.
